Big Hugs Elmo

Product Review – Big Hugs Elmo

Sesame Street and its furry characters have always been a favorite of children and adults alike. With many characters being made into toys, the always popular Elmo is given new upgrades every year to cope with the high demand. Each new edition has seen Elmo become more and more interactive. Taking this to a new level is Big Hugs Elmo, which is set to become immensely popular.

Let’s Take A Look At Some Of The Features

Big Hugs Elmo is 22 inches tall and made of delightfully cuddly soft plush fabric, and he responds to hugs and cuddles. He is interactive enough to feel almost like the “real thing.&#8221 He sings several songs, including a lullaby when he’s being rocked to sleep, and can actively encourage the child’s imagination with different suggestions of pretend play. He can interact when he&#8217s being rocked or bounced around and is even sensitive enough to tell the child when he’s being held upside down.

Things We Like About This Latest Elmo

What’s not to like, actually. There are so many great features to enjoy. Big Hugs Elmo has a very sophisticated level of interaction that children will find remarkably engaging. He has flexible arms and a soft plush head and is the largest and most huggable toy within the range.

Things We Did Not Like About Elmo

The only negative points are that he is only recommended for ages 18 months and over, so although younger children may be delighted with him, he may not be suitable, which could create arguments with younger siblings. Also he requires 4 AA batteries (which are not included) and official information hasn’t clarified how quickly the sophisticated interaction features will drain battery life.

Who Would Buy Big Hugs Elmo?

This toy is recommended for children aged 18 months to 4 years, although I know a few adults who would consider one for themselves. :) The toy provides a chatty little companion and will encourage the imagination and engage any toddler or young child.

Is Big Hugs Elmo Worth The Money?

It would be hard to put a price on the new Elmo, but he is certainly one of the most sophisticated, interactive toys currently available. The level of interactivity will have most toddlers believing that you have brought home the real Elmo as their own personal playmate. This will certainly make it a toy which will benefit from long periods of enjoyment and will not be relegated to the back of a closet or the bottom of a toy chest.

Where Can I Buy Big Hugs Elmo?

This new Elmo is available for purchase from most major toy retailers and online such as Amazon.com.

Zoomer The Robotic Dog

Product Review – Zoomer The Robotic Dog

Zoomer is the new robotic dog from Spin Master that looks like a Dalmatian puppy. It’s the most advanced robo-dog that’s been on the market to date. Zoomer is fully articulated and interactive, and best of all while looking and acting like a real puppy, Zoomer is mess-free. No trips to the vet or walks every day, no toilet training, completely hypoallergenic and no responsibility.

Zoomer has a full range of motion with its fully articulated limbs, and with its “ball paws” it can be used on any surface without causing damage. It can also act and move just like a real playful puppy, wagging its tail, rolling around and crouching. Its LED eyes can track movements across the room and turn into hearts when someone says “I love you.”Β  Zoomer also has voice activated commands and can learn when he is played with.

Who would buy Zoomer?

Zoomer is aimed at anyone 5 years and older. Although primarily aimed at younger children, it also appeals to entire families.

Things We Like About Zoomer

Zoomer has about 30 trainable commands including “here boy,” “play ball,” “speak,” “look at me,” and many more. This is great fun for children who want a pet dog but who are still too young for the responsibility of a real dog. The more that he is played with the more he will learn, and he will also learn to recognize his owners.

One of the cutest features of Zoomer is that he has sensors on his belly so he responds to a belly rub by rolling over and showing hearts in his LED eyes. He can also play dead, and when he does this he appears to fall over and his eyes become X’s. Zoomer even goes to the toilet on command, lifting his back leg and making sounds.

Just like a real dog, if he’s left alone he will go and explore the room and find things to play with and look at.

Things We Don’t Like About Zoomer

One downside to Zoomer is that a full charge, which takes about 30 minutes, will only give 20-40 minutes of play time. So if a child wants to play they will only be able to play in 20-40 minute segments rather than a long play session. On the upside, it can be charged with either a USB or AC, which means you can plug him in almost anywhere.

Is Zoomer Worth The Money?

At about $100 it may seem expensive at first, but with all of Zoomer’s features and tricks the price really isn’t that bad. And it’s much cheaper than the alternative – a real dog.

Customer Reviews of Zoomer

When Zoomer was displayed at the New York Toy Fair before its official release, both children and adults were falling in love with this interactive puppy. Now that it’s been released to the public, the reviews are coming in fast and they’reΒ  all the same – everyone loves Zoomer.

Where can I buy Zoomer?

Zoomer The Robotic Dog is available in all major toy stores and on Amazon.

Barbie Digital Makeup Mirror

Product Review &#8211 Barbie Digital Makeover Mirror

The Barbie Digital Makeover Mirror by Mattell is a digital vanity mirror that is compatible with an iPad. The level of fun and dynamic play is brought to an entirely new level because girls can try on different kinds of eye shadow or lipstick without really using makeup. This is a major benefit for parents who don&#8217t feel like dealing with messy cleanup afterwards. As its name suggests, the makeover mirror allows girls to play makeover in a digital setting.

Who Would Use This Product?

The Mattell Barbie Digital Makeover Mirror is advertised to be for young girls ages 6 and up. This is the perfect age group, as the appeal of makeovers and the Barbie series is undeniable for most girls of this age.

But while the product is made as a toy for girls, the applications of it are a viable solution for adults, too, because they could try on different types of makeup to see what they would look like without actually having to try them on. (A wonderful idea for beauty shops and retail stores!)

What We Like about the Barbie Digital Makeover Mirror

This product provides parents and children a lot of value for the money. One really neat feature of the toy is the ability to utilize face tracking technology, which follows the movements of the child, so the act of putting on makeup becomes an engaging experience that is as close to real life as it gets!

What We Did Not Like about the Barbie Digital Makeover Mirror

Unless you simply are not a fan of the Mattell Barbie brand, there really isn’t much to dislike about the Barbie Digital Makeover Mirror. However, there could be a potential for damage to the iPad, since this piece of technology isn’t exactly designed for children. But with proper adult supervision for younger girls there shouldn’t be any problems.

Is the Barbie Digital Makeover Mirror Worth the Money?

This toy is definitely worth the price because it turns an iPad into a source of non-stop entertainment for young girls. Besides that, the digital technology saves on having to actually purchase makeup products and cleaning materials.

Customer Reviews For Barbie Digital Makeover Mirror

The Barbie Digital Makeover Mirror is gaining increased attention by parents as a viable alternative to physically supplying their child&#8217s makeover desires. So far, consumers have been extremely satisfied with the product, and it&#8217s a perfect combination of play and computer technology.

Where Can I Buy The Barbie Digital Makeover Mirror?

The Barbie Digital Makeover Mirror can be bought online at websites such as Amazon.com and in other major stores, like Toys R Us.
